1) Marc Chauvet, Brut, $43

-Tart apple times two.
-Tiny bubbles.
-Lots of acid but just this side of sour.
-Yeasty, toasty.

2) Etienne Chéré, Brut, $40

40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier
-Pear and lemon flavors dominant.
-Yeasty.

3) Colin, Cuvée Aliance, Brut, $28

-Tart, very nice.
-No sweetness, sort of sharp.
-Very crisp - best match for cheese.
-My second favorite.

4) Jacques Picard (Brother of Jeanne Luc?), Brut, $33

60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Meunier, 5% Pinot Noir
-Grapefruit.
-Very bubbly.
-Lemon, some toast, crisp.

5) Aubry, Brut, Premier Cru, $34

Disgorged June 2012
-Big kick up front.
-Not quite ripe peach.
-Peachy, lower acid.
-My favorite.

6) Marc Hebrart, Brut, Cuvée de Reserve, $43

Disgorged April 2011
-Earthy nose, melon and pear flavor dominant.
-My third favorite.

-Very smooth with a light finish.
-Far and away the best nose so far.
-Jammy at first.
-Big nose, some tannin, along with #8 the best wine.
-Full, smooth, complex, and satisfying.

-Smoother than #1, also fruity.

3) Rocca di Montegrossi, Classico, 2008, $27 ($22 on sale) -Bold and complex flavors.

-Well balanced.
-On second taste, still big flavors; this is a keeper.

-Chocolate.

-Spicy with tannic finish.

-Very smooth, blackberries, great finish.
