2007 Attachmate(legacy WRQ) Wine Tastings
1) Mumm Napa, Brut Prestige, $13.99
-Light straw color, tiny bubbles, nice-tart finish.
-Fruity, apple - lots of bubbles - I like it.
-Fruity.
-2nd taste: Granny smith apples, very fresh.
-Nice yeasty nose, good fruit, good value.
2) Schramsberg, Blanc de Blancs, Vintage 2004, $26.99
-Very dry, somewhat yeasty.
-Yeasty.
-Austere, but excellent. Favorite.
-This and the Argyle are my favorites.
3) Roederer Estate, L'Ermitage, Brut, 2000, $32.39
-Apples, toasty, nice finish.
-Tart finish.
-More fruit tan yeast and toast. Good with a palate, it has a fruity opening with a fresh citrusy finish.
4) Charles Heidsieck, Brut Reserve, $33.99
-Some bitterness on the finish.
-Fruity.
-Yeasty.
-Toasty. Yeasty. Tiny bubbles.
-Lovely! Lots of bubbles, toasty.
-Classic yeast/toast. Good.
5) Argyle, Extended Tirage, 1997, $31.29
-Opens with jasmine.
-Perfume.
-Fairly austere but with nice hint of fruit. Yeasty. #2
-Flowery nose, some tart apple with steely overtones. #1
6) Nicolas Feuillatte, Rose, $35.39
-A slight bitter finish, like a grapefruit.
-After the Argyle, it’s sour. Metallic finish.
-Fruit bomb for champagne.
-Not my favorite, but a good match with pears.

-delicious, but does not smell like a Cab Franc.
-86% Cab Franc & the rest Cab Sauvignon, tastes great, but more like a Cab Sauvignon.

-Great example of a Cab Franc in nose & taste.
4) O.S. Winery, Champoux Vineyards, Horse Heaven Hills, 2004, 14.4%, $28
-Fruity smell.
-Cloudy in color, more medium in body, a little spice.

-Beautiful bouquet, round rich, very french. No surprise it is a Barolo.
-Great nose.
-Lots of heavy raspberry-dark wine.
